The crew is pretty relaxed this morning, with no early tee time, just the afternoon slot we have booked on Corballis. I have decided not to play the short course and am quite happy to have the day off. After some discussion J&S decide they will take a pass also, and have noticed the spa downstairs has a few treatments that might be a better use of their time than playing Corballis.
Jutta would still like to hit some balls though, so I ask around and find a few driving range options, with the best being Kinsealy Grange just 7 minutes from the hotel. We jump in the car and are off. As promised, Maps has us there in on schedule, and we drive up a long driveway, protected by nets from the balls firing out in all directions from a pretty large two decker, crescent shaped hitting range. This place is hopping……….loads of activity outside, and we realize later that the property is home to not just the driving range, but also a self car wash, a detailing shop, a gutter cleaning operation, a roofing contractor, and a used Mercedes car lot………inside, there is a full on golf shop by McGuirks, the leading local golf retailer as best I can determine, and a full service golf club repair/custom build shop, and a sandwich bar. Gives the phrase “One stop shop” a whole new meaning doesn’t it. In one visit I could schedule my annual gutter cleaning, get my clubs re-gripped, buy a new pair of golf shoes, have a couple of beers and a sandwich, and buy a used Mercedes…….might even hit some balls! Jutta’s session goes well and she promises me an ass kicking on our next round.

The Goats are off to the spa and have booked the ever popular seaweed bath…….apparently I will be sleeping with a totally new woman tonight with skin as smooth as the finest silk…….hold me back!!!

If you were wondering about the title of this installment you might have guessed that we are doing a return visit to Old Street restaurant in Malahide. Everything was just too good, and we all spied each other’s dishes and want to give them a try ourselves. Just fantastic all the way around.
