Today we will take on the Jameson Links one more time, and it looks like another perfect day for golf. I haven’t mentioned the weather yet, but it has been fantastic. Not shorts and shirtsleeves, but a nice mid-teen temperature with intermittent sunshine and a friendly breeze……..forecasted to continue for at least another week, with temps getting even higher…….zero rain! Good starting time this morning giving us plenty of time to tie on the breakfast food bag once again before heading out. Why do you eat so much on vacation…..why? If breakfast wasn’t included with our room I swear I would just have a cup of coffee and be happy, just like at home.

The course has become very familiar now……knowing the correct shot to make or which side of the fairway to favour off the tee makes a big difference, but being able to execute the shot better than 30% of the time would be even better. The goats are right into it now, but haven’t asked me for a game yet, so there must be a few more kinks to work out. Playing early with the morning gang gets us around in sub 4 hours, but that is pretty standard around these parts anyway. I have met a great fella named Mick at the half way hut, and we had a real nice chat. He went over and wrote down his contact info on my scorecard, so that next time we were in town, I could give him a call to arrange a game, and play at guest rates rather than the hotel/public rates we were paying now. Nice guy…….I will take him up on that. Our round goes very well and I must say this has been a very good course for us at this stage of the season…….very friendly, and not overly difficult except for the length……..if you are not hitting it well off the tee, it gets a lot harder.

Our concierge at the hotel was most helpful in explaining the significance of the stone tee box markers for Jutta………not gravestones!……..they are meant to resemble a large rock found on the property during the construction of the course, and the scored markings on the sides are some sort of measurement used by the ancient population……..I said Druids?…….Jutta said yes, but not sure if that is accurate, but we can finally put the gravestone thing to bed.
Part of my day now involves a little afternoon power nap, which was my usual writing window, and therefore the lack of daily reports………working on that one!

Dinner tonight is at Kajjal in Malahide……..great spot that we always visit when we are in town. I always thought it was an Indian restaurant, but I have been corrected…….Pakistani……..I believe there is a difference, but to be honest it all tastes very much the same to me, and that is “fantastic”. We do a little street crawl after dinner and pop in for some gelato to finish it all off………back at the hotel, the goats are off for a walk around on the hotel trail……..have to keep those miles up!
