You all know I have been home for a few days and have continued blogging to finish up the Costa del Sol collection. Somewhere along the line I need to take all the Morocco posts and group them together under their own heading, but for now, this last installment will wrap it all up. What a great 6 weeks it has been. Living in Spain for the month of November was very special, and to be in a condo as opposed to a hotel made a huge difference. Jutta and Sibylle couldn’t have picked a better location, with great access to the beach trail for walking and biking…….just a short distance into town for shopping, restaurants, entertainment, etc……….easy access to the highway, and nothing longer than a 25 minute ride to play golf. Staring out over the Mediterranean every day, all day, was fantastic. We even managed some sightseeing along the way which is not usually high on our list of things to do when travelling. That slow play thing still sticks in my craw, but I guess I should get over that because we played some really great golf courses, with our every day favourite being Santa Clara. I will always remember the food……new dishes, new flavours, but always great quality. It was great that Mike and Vivian came and joined us for a couple of days, and it would have been nice to get in a game with them, but maybe that is next time. John and Monica coming to Spain and following on over to Morocco has been a great mix……always fun travelling with them.
So then we go to Morocco…….a return trip for Jutta and I…….brand new for Sibylle……and even though Cos claims he has been there, I am not sure that a ferry to Tangiers 40 years ago, and a ride in a taxi with a guy who is trying to sell you carpets all day, really qualifies. I will give him the benefit of the doubt. What a place though………I said it before…….sensory overload……organized chaos…….marvelous. We will be going back again for sure. Sibylle never did get to ride a camel, or spend some time in the desert, so that will have to be corrected………I think Jutta still has a few more pairs of shoes she would like to buy……oh, and there were those dishes in that shop……..etc.,etc.. Villa de Orangers is right up there as an all time favourite for places to stay………we will always remember that place.
We were all on schedule in the morning……our alarm went off at 3am, and we were in the van and rolling by 3:45……..they actually ordered a second van to handle all the luggage which was very wise as it would have been a tight squeeze otherwise. Air France is the first flight out of Marrakech and we are on it.
Thanks to you all for chiming in……I really enjoyed your comments/likes along the way. As I have said before, this blog is self serving for me, because if I ever forget anything, now I have a written record to look back on, and refresh all of those great memories. Until next time………
