And so it comes down to this……..the final round of the Tour de’Espana, and fittingly at our every day favourite course Santa Clara GC. Once again we have scored the 8:00am and 8:10am slots, so we know at least our last round in Spain will be at a pace we are used to.

Another couple show up at the first tee……walking with electric trolleys, and promise they are fast, so we are happy to let them set the pace, and believe me they are gone in a heartbeat. They set a very quick pace and we are comfortably behind them, very happy to have, and using all the local knowledge we accumulated on this course. JC wants a coffee at the turn but the guy inside is just way too busy serving tables and the two other dudes in front of him so we ditch that idea and head down to #10. We notice a couple of strange figures and a golf cart in the fairway…..Mr.Starter tells us they are older members who play at 9:20 daily and only play 9 holes…..he assures us they will let us through, and we hope they do. It just takes a couple of holes of us on their ass and they give us the wave on 12 tee……very nice older couple, who actually kept up nicely once we were in front. Clear sailing for me and Johnny……..finished in three hours……brilliant, and didn’t feel like we rushed it at all. Two guys in a cart that aren’t hitting it all over the planet should be able to play in 3.
The ladies playing behind us had some excitement as the starter allowed two groups in between them and us…..I’m not 100% sure, but I believe there was some discussion out there about who would be playing in front of whom, and just what species of bovine was your mother anyway. Ladies finish in 3:15.

We are actually finished early enough that the restaurant is still on the breakfast menu, so we scarf down a number of selections, but the most popular being the Nordic Breakfast……you know they did have a Full English Breakfast on the menu, complete with everything right down to the mushrooms, beans, and fried tomato, but I just couldn’t do it………perhaps if they had called it a Full Irish, I would have been tempted………almost ordered a side of black pudding to go along with my Nordic though.

We have some packing to do back at the ranch, and we all agree that a quick and easy walk over to Eva/Ava tonight would be the best choice for dinner. No Russian Mafia in the house……..really just us and two other couples…..our waiter Claudio is on the job, and we know the menu inside out and backwards by now anyway so everything is pretty slick. We save some room for baklava and ice creamot the end, and it is a good cap on the night. Travel day tomorrow……Morocco beckons.
