GETTING DOWN TO IT

Holy crap just a few days left and we are outa here……..our last day off, and we are all over the place doing different things………I’m riding Wolffy before I have to take him home later this morning…….John and Monica had a problem with their rental vehicle that they have to deal with……..really nice Volvo SUV, but on the way home from golf yesterday it started making noises. Didn’t take John long to diagnose the problem……shredded belt, so lucky they were able to limp home and have called Enterprise who will be replacing the car this morning. Pretty slick…….flatbed delivers the new one and picks up the casualty………all set to go now with an almost new BMW X3…….nice. The ladies will have another excursion to La Canada in the new wheels……big surprise.

I’m headed way down that shore for my last ride……almost as far as the bike shop
Looking back
Workout stations all along the shore at regular intervals

John and I take Wolffy back home to La Casa de las Bicicletas, about 15 minutes down the shore…….if you are in this neck of the woods and need a bike, call these guys…….the whole family works in the shop together. So nice to see. We scoot just down the road to Duchesa Marina for a bite to eat and a cold one……the girls are texting that they are on the way home but won’t be joining us. Relaxing afternoon for me before thinking about dinner, but the goats are off again, walking into town and score a little lunch at a place called Olivia…….they loved it. Later on, John and Monica decide to have a quiet one in the condo, so the three musketeers are off in search of the best pizza in Estepona. Everyone just felt like a pie…….ok my turn to make the reservation……..I find the pizzeria I want on the web, scroll down its website to the bottom where there is a phone number…….call it……talk to a dude…….make a reservation for 7:30, and we get there and it is CLOSED……..whaaaat…twice in a row! So we are stuck again, and do the walk around looking, but nothing really jumps out. Then the ladies suggest we go back to Olivia, and they would have exactly what they had for lunch because it was amazing. I don’t need much encouragement because I am starving, and Olivia has a lovely table for us upstairs inside because it is a little chilly outside this evening. One of the best meals of the trip so far…….no really…….a local guy sitting next to me says there are just two restaurants in this town, this one, and Miguel, just ten minutes away………who knew! There must be a thousand restaurants in Estepona but I think you know what he was saying.

Yep, we found a good one!!!!
I know it doesn’t look like much, but I can guarantee you this is a spectacular pasta dish with homemade pasta pockets, pears, carmelised nuts, and a manchego cheese sauce……..just stop it!
Extremely cool dish…….wagyu beef sushi……strips of beef laid over the rice……coated with a teriyaki sauce and then torched to perfection

Olivia is truly a meat place with a huge selection of everything with hooves on the menu……so glad we found this one.
