I’M A MORNING PERSON

If you have ever wondered how much freight is transported around the world, all you have to do is sit on our balcony and look out south over the Mediterranean towards the horizon.  There is a steady stream of freighters, container ships, and tankers, heading both ways, every day, all day, and all night.  It is endless.  I wish I had a share in the tolls at the Suez Canal!  Quite amazing.

I told them Knocher just might show up today at Santa Clara so they put out his sign

Today is a return trip to Santa Clara……obviously one of our favourites so far, and being able to get the early start times is a huge bonus.  Today Cos and I will be off at 8:00am, with the sista goats+monagoat at 8:10…….perfect.  John likes the course right out of the chute, just like we did, and we make great time playing behind a couple of members who are moving right along………front 9, sub 2hrs.  Although chilly to start, it warms up nicely, and we peel a couple of layers before we are done.  Just as quick on the back, and the ladies are keeping pace just a hole behind.  I know I am beginning to sound like golf/eat golf/eat golf/eat, but once you have your round in, it is time to tie on the feed bag, and I can’t wait for those crazy good shrimp tacos in the restaurant at Santa Clara.  First things first though……..we pop the Cava in the pro shop and down a few while the ladies contribute to the local economy.

Don’t throw yourself in the lake…..it wasn’t that bad a round

Being finished early is such a plus, and now we have the rest of the day ahead of us.  Wolffy will be taking me on a nice long ride, and the rest of the gang will walk into town to visit old town with Cosgrove’s, and we will all meet up for a return trip to Central Beach Chiringuito for some fish on a stick.  All goes according to plan, and we have a relatively early dinner on the beach……..again, perfect……..down a bottle of Rioja, and head out happy that they don’t give cyclists impaired driving tickets.  Quite a full day.

Cos and the goats heading to town
It is customary at the chiringuito to offer you a little shot to wash down your meal…….like lemoncello, baileys, amaro………Monica piped up “TEQUILLA”, so it was shots all round……..old school with the salt and lemon
