This just in. Crack news reporter Hugh Fallon has apparently been smoking some crack. In a recent blog post Fallon failed to mention a notable event that took place on the links at Portmarnock Golf Club, May 1. Reached for comment in Malahide, just down the road from Portmarnock, Fallon was lost for words and quite shaken (quite unusual for this fellow) but apologized profusely once he regained his composure. The glaring omission is in reference to a confirmed report of a 260 yard tee shot by a Jutta Witt, from Collingwood, Ontario, on the 9th hole of the Portmarnock links. Ms Witt admits that she definitely “got a good roll out of that one” but added that it felt pure all the way through the ball and I knew it was a good shot as soon as it left the club. Ms Witt added that she was at least 50 yards ahead of even the longest drive from the rest of her foursome who were quick to confirm the 260 yard shot. The distance was checked by at least 2 Garmin GPS Golf Watches, and one GPS equipped golf cart known as the “Popemobile”?
