Day 3 in Cape Town was our chance to explore the V&A Waterfront area (Victoria & Alfred), and we had lunch scheduled down at the old Biscuit Factory district……..eating at The Pot Luck Club, sister restaurant to Test Kitchen (#1in the world). V&A surrounds the harbour for fishing, touring, and pleasure craft, with the big commercial harbour just down the road.
The waterfront has grown and developed over the past twenty years or so, and now has a full compliment of shops, restaurants, and hotels, with one of our favourite areas being a large converted warehouse with the best food court ever and small shops from local artisans. The second floor housed shared space for the startup and small business crowd……..really well done………and then walked around The Silo Hotel……check it out Collingwood.

I get missing socks at home…….I think they all end up here

The Biscuit Factory used to make all the biscuits in town (go figure) and has been brought back to life, we assume, by the owner of the restaurants, and is now a very trendy little shopping area. Their impact on the surrounding neighbourhood has been huge. The Pot Luck Club is on top of yet another silo with great views of the waterfront……….Collingwood! What an experience…..you know we love our food, and this place was a huge treat……..all small plate sharing dishes that were prepared to perfection. We couldn’t get into Test Kitchen…….apparently reservations at least six months to a year in advance are suggested. Oops, blew that one.

We UBER’d it back to the waterfront and watched the rest of the day go by before hitting the sack………4am pickup for our flight to Namibia.
